Company history
The Arabian Shield Company started its activity in 1998 when the company entered the Saudi market as a Bahraini insurance company operating through a local agent.
The procedures for establishing a Saudi cooperative insurance company were started after the issuance of regulations for licensing and regulating the insurance sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance Company was established in May 2007 as a Saudi joint stock company and was granted a license by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (Sama) in September 2007 to practice general and medical insurance business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The previously written works were transferred by the Bahraini company to the Arabian Shield Cooperative Insurance Company, which started operations on January 1, 2009.
