About Us

Royal Approval No. 7/1561 / AD was issued on 5/19/1404 AH to establish the National Center for Kidneys, to be supervised by a committee from all health sectors in the Kingdom. To be this is the beginning of a new phase in organizing treatment for patients with kidney failure, preparing units for dialysis, organizing the practice of kidney transplantation from relatives' neighborhoods and starting a donation program after brain death, and the establishment of the National Kidney Center had an impact on the acceleration of the establishment of dialysis centers in the Kingdom and then the transformation of the National Center for Kidneys into Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation. Over these years, many qualitative and technical achievements related to this program were achieved, all of which was based on the unlimited support of the rulers - may God protect them - and direct follow-up from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Honorary President of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, and the interaction of all government agencies and civil institutions And doers of goodness, as it was subsequently followed by the Honorable Council of Ministers Resolution No. (80) dated 1413 AH to expand the functions of the National Center for Kidneys to become the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.
